The iPhone 5 has officially been announced. And will be available to us next week!
Okay, after watching a live blog from The Verge, I have the entire scoop on this new hot commodity.
For starters, I’ll give you the information that I was most interested in hearing:
Pre-orders start September 14th – ships September 21st – ships to more countries on September 28th – iOS 6 will be available on September 19th
Pricing will be - $199 - 16 GB, $299 - 32 GB, $399 – 64 GB (Yes, 64 is now available - hot dog). And that is based on a new contract, of course.
Shall we proceed to the greatly anticipated features of this sleek and sexy iPhone 5? As you wish…
Every aspect of the iPhone 5 has been updated and is entirely made of glass and aluminum. It will now be 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the 4S. This will make it the world’s thinnest phone. The point was to make a bigger phone, but smaller and lighter. “Anyone can make a bigger phone” – touché!
You must see it with your own eyes!
Retina display is 326 PPI with a 1136 x 640 screen resolution and a 16:9 aspect ration. Due to the screen lengthening, there will now been a 5th row of icons added.

And, there is still more to share with you folks...
There will now be 3 microphones (front, back, and bottom). Packed with 5 magnet transducer, wideband audio, including improved speaker design and it will be 20% smaller.
The adapter, which they are calling “Lightning”, will now be all digital and an 8 signal design (rather than 30). Not to mention, adaptive interface, improved durability, reversible, and 80% smaller. And, for those who are still using the 30-pin connector, they are working on accessories for ya!
