With so many mobile consumers out there today, you may be wondering if your business should invest in developing a mobile app. Here are a few stats that you should take into consideration:

  • As of January 2015, 80% of Internet users own a smartphone. (GlobalWebIndex.net)
  • In January 2014, 55% of the US’s Internet usage came from mobile devices compared to 45% from computers. (Money.CNN.com)

So you may be thinking that your mobile responsive website will do the trick, but not so fast. Here are some more stats to consider:

  • As of November 2013, 26% of mobile research started on branded apps. (Google.com/Think)
  • In the last quarter of 2013, 89% of consumers’ media time was spent using mobile apps, as opposed to just 11% on mobile sites. (SmartInsights.com)
  • According to Statista.com, mobile app revenues will exceed $76 billion by 2017. (We assume you’d like a piece of that, right?)
  • Over 75 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store as of June 2014. (Statista.com)

In conclusion, mobile presence is no longer an option. While mobile-friendly websites are great, imagine not having to compete with others for top rankings on the search engines. Having a mobile app for your brand can do just that! If you’d like some more information on developing a mobile application, contact us.
